Achilleion Palace, Pelekas, Paleokastritsa, and Kanoni on a single private route.
Palace & Gardens · Corfu’s most iconic landmark
Achilleion Palace
Built in 1890 for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, widely known as Princess Sissi, the Achilleion is a Neoclassical palace set on a hillside above Gastouri village with sweeping views of the Ionian Sea. The palace and its gardens are filled with mythological statues, most famously the colossal bronze Dying Achilles, a figure found nowhere else in Greece.
Your visit includes the palace grounds and gardens, where the terraced layout and sea views are as impressive as the sculptures themselves. The Achilleion is the cultural centrepiece of this tour and the most architecturally significant stop on the island.
✓ Visit duration: 40 to 50 minutes ✓ Dying Achilles bronze & sculpture gardens ✓ Ionian Sea panorama
West Coast · Monastery & Viewpoints
Paleokastritsa & Kanoni
From the palace the route continues to Paleokastritsa on the northwest coast, one of the most photographed bays in Greece. The clear turquoise water, the limestone cliffs, and the 13th-century clifftop monastery of Moni Theotokou together make this a highlight of any Corfu visit. The monastery is open to visitors and still home to an active religious community.
The tour ends at Kanoni, the peninsula south of Corfu Town famous for its view across the lagoon to the church of Panagia Vlacherna and Mouse Island. The Kanoni viewpoint is open and easy to reach on foot from the car park.
✓ Active monastery with sea-view terrace ✓ Kanoni postcard viewpoint ✓ Pelekas panoramic stop included

No shared buses, no fixed group timing. Your private car, your pace.
Imperial history
Achilleion Palace & Gardens
Forty to fifty minutes inside the Achilleion Palace grounds gives you time to walk the sculpture gardens, see the famous Dying Achilles bronze, and take in the sea views from the terraces. Your driver will share the history of Princess Sissi and the palace’s role in Corfu’s cultural identity.
Hilltop village
Pelekas & Kaiser’s Throne
The village of Pelekas sits on a ridge above the west coast with open views across most of the island. Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany is said to have watched sunsets here from a rocky viewpoint nicknamed Kaiser’s Throne. It remains one of the best panoramic stops on Corfu and a natural midpoint on the route.
Coastal scenery
Paleokastritsa Bay & Kanoni
The tour closes with two of Corfu’s most scenic viewpoints: the turquoise coves and clifftop monastery of Paleokastritsa, and the calm lagoon at Kanoni with its famous view of Panagia Vlacherna church and Mouse Island. Both stops are open and easy to reach on foot.
